Obituary of David Miller

Miller,David Michael August 16, 1938 - May 29, 2018 David Michael Miller,79, loving husband, father and grandfather peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 29th at his home surrounded by his family. David was born on August 16th, 1938 in Schenectady, NY to the late Abraham and Goldie Miller. After attending college at the University of New York at Buffalo, he spent time traveling throughout South America before entering the United States Army as an encryption analyst during the Berlin Crisis. Once receiving his honorable discharge, David began his career in business sales management and eventually becoming the Executive Vice President of the entire Eastern Coast of the US with Oxford Chemicals in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1984, David decided on an early retirement and moved his wife Marcia and daughter Amy to Siesta Key to enjoy the sun, beach and boating. He became the owner of Yellow Cab of Sarasota and the co-owner, with wife Marcia, of Fabulous Faux Jewelry on St. Armand’s Circle in Sarasota and The Village Shops on Venetian Bay in Naples. In 2001, when his daughter and granddaughter moved back to Sarasota from Atlanta, David took his final retirement in order to spend his time with “ the love of his life”, granddaughter Jessica. David was an avid reader, stock market and political enthusiast, a talented gardener and a huge sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marcia, his devoted daughter, Amy and his beloved granddaughter Jessica.
